Take a peek inside the Tight Club community, each week we’re checking in with one of our crew to learn what they get up to when they’re not slamming balls or crushing burpee challenges. These are the people that motivate you in class when sh!t gets real. From OG’s to newbies, here’s their inside scoop.
What is Tight in your life?
Well this will sound pretty cheesy but my boyfriend, Connor, AND my girlfriends are super tight. As in, Connor is the most supportive, kind and intelligent person I know. I feel humbled to share my life with him. As for my girlfriends, each and everyone of them are equal parts hilarious, smart and beautiful. They are the full package, you know. So I guess to summarize, what’s “Tight in my life” are my friends and family.
Some may say a sprint because I’m fast, well at least for a girl with teeny, tiny legs. It’s funny, I have run for as long as I can remember but I really only discovered that I was a fairly fast runner after I attended my very first Tight Club No Fun Run.
I actually super dislike sprinting, it's hard and I really love long distance. So personally, I think I would say “signature” or my favourite move is ball-slams. They are so satisfying after a long gruelling day at work — you get to slam it out!!
Something people might not know about you?
My middle name is Daystarr. Yes, you read it right, with two “R’s". I had hippie parents; for that matter, Daystarr was supposed to be my first name but thankfully my mother is Norwegian and it didn’t sound great in Norwegian.
What’s your favourite workout song?
An oldie but a goldie: Kelis ft. Andre 3000 - “Millionaire.” Nothing keeps my energy up during a long, hard run like this jam. It’s the perfect balance of peppy and sing-songy.
What’s your spirit animal and why?
That’s a tough one. I f**ing love all baby animals, but who doesn’t. I think probably a lizard. That’s because in a desert-like environment I’m in my happy place. Dry, hot, hot heat equals HEAVEN. So I guess I’m a lounge-lizard.
Who would be your celebrity best friend?
Gah - I’m not really up on my celebrities but guess I would say my celebrity best friend would be someone who could make me laugh out loud everyday. Maybe Jimmy Fallon or Ellen Degeneres because I just love how they can’t keep a straight face when performing comedy acts or interviewing funny people. They are always one step away from cracking up. See Jimmy Fallon in the “Best of Will Farrell Saturday Live” - he just can't keep a straight face when Will Farrell and him are in a skit together. It kills me.
Favourite way to procrastinate?
Well my PG answer is that I suppose it depends on the time of year. Summer, I love to procrastinate with a good book and lying in the sun. During the long dark days of winter‚ Netflix and chill.
What was the last thing you read?
Junot Díaz - This is How You Lose Her
If you could go anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?
O boy, I want to go everywhere. I have an insatiable appetite for travelling but if I had to choose right now it would probably be Japan. I love everything about Japanese culture and food and have never been there even though I’ve spent so much time in SE Asia.

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
